Spring Sampler Block 2 - Beacon

Sponsored by:

Welcome to Block 2 of our Spring Sampler Quilt Along!  A big thank you goes out to Connecting Threads for sponsoring our quilt along and to Heidi for testing last week's block!

I love seeing all the Pyramid blocks coming in from last week!  Everyone is doing a great job so far and your gorgeous color palettes are awesome!!  I already want to make the quilt again in at least two other color schemes!!

Please join in our quilt along at any time - the patterns will be available on our blog indefinitely!  Visit these pages for help choosing your prints and for fabric requirements for the project.  You can view the tutorials for other blocks here.

Share photos of this block below in our linky party or in our flickr group.  Each block shared between now and 7/24/14 is an entry into our prize raffle - US & Canadian residents only, please.

Always be sure to read through the entire set of instructions before beginning, sew with a 1/4" seam, and press seams as directed by the arrows.

2.  Attach a 2 ” Medium Print square to the left and right sides of each of the two remaining 4 ¾” x 2 Dark Print rectangles.

3.  Attach the blocks made in step #2 to the top and bottom of the center block.

4.  Attach a 4 ¼” Background triangle to the right side of 4 - 4 ¼” Vibrant Print triangles.

5.  Attach a 4 ¼” Background triangle to the left side of the remaining 4 - 4 ¼” Vibrant Print triangles.

6.  Attach a right-facing Vibrant/Background block from step #4  to the right side of each of the 4 - 3 Vibrant Print squares.

7.  Attach a left-facing Vibrant/Background block from step #5  to the bottom of each of the blocks made in step #6.

8.  Attach two of the blocks made in step #7 to the left and right sides of the center block.

9.  Attach the remaining two blocks made in step #7 to the top and bottom of the center block.
